This message just received from the charity working in Pakistan that the proceeds from the fund raising evening went to:
Many thanks to all those who generously donated at last month’s fund raising event for the victims of Pakistan’s floods.
The money was sent to a local Pakistani NGO called Charity Support based in Lahore and working in southern Punjab through its office in Multan. Charity Support works on emergency disaster relief programs as well as on long term development projects in the fields of education and health, primarily.
Â
The money, GBP 1515.00, was used to buy tents, which were distributed in Kot Mithan area, where we held a camp on September 19. You can see text and pictures of Charity Support work here
I have some exciting news. For this Friday’s Big Bunkfest Ballroom we’re moving back to our spiritual home – the Centre 70! Hooray!
The Centre 70 is right next door to the Portcullis – there will be signs up on the night. There is no bar there so bring your own booze with you – this place is seconds away and will be selling some tasty ales…
Doors/sign up to play will still be at 8pm and music will be from 8.30pm. We’ve got our very own page on the Bunkfest website (get us!). Why not have a look here?
Just a quick post to thank everyone who came along to Braziers Park last night. Over £1200 raised – just amazing. We’ll let you know the final total and where the money is going as soon as possible.
I am sure you’ve all read about the awful situation with the flooding in Pakistan. This email is to invite you to an evening of open mic music to help raise much needed funds.
Do any of you remember the fantastic evening of music up at Braziers Park earlier this year to raise money for Haiti? Thanks to the generosity of all involved with that evening, nearly £1000 was raised, every penny of which went to the Haiti earthquake appeal. Well, here’s the thing. Let’s try and do the same for the Pakistan flooding appeal. With your support I’m sure we can have a great evening of music and raise some cash at the same time.
We haven’t finalised the details yet, but the general idea is to have an evening of open mic under the stars outside the magnificence that is Braziers Park. There will be a bar and some kind of (delicious) food prepared by the good folks at Braziers. It’s down to you lot to provide some excellent music and company. It will probably start at around 8pm and go on till late.
Keep an eye on the Ballroom website for more details but please put Friday 27th August in your diary now.
I hope as many people as possible will come up and support the night – forward this email to anyone you know who might be interested.
There is an excellent bus service between Reading, Braziers Park, Wallingford and Oxford. See this link for details.
Thank you so much for reading, and please come and support the night if you can.
