Hello folks,
I can’t quite believe it but the next Ballroom will celebrate 4 years of fantastic live acoustic music in Wallingford! We’re going to celebrate in the traditional way with cake and Sportsbag.
We’re also doing something new this year by being part of the brilliant Oxjam. Come and join us and help raise some money for a fine cause as well as partying like it’s 1654.
See you there.

Hello brothers and sisters,
The next Acoustic Ballroom is Friday 4th September. We’re part of the Wallingford Bunkfest this month so expect to see some new faces up on stage. (The usual zero tolerance on morris dancing is still in place so don’t worry on that score…)
It’s open mic as usual - doors/sign up to play at 8pm. Music from 8.30pm. £3/free to play.
Check out the Bunkfest website for details of what’s happening over the weekend. My hot tips are Tandara Mandara and Dalton Smith and Brown.
See you Friday.
Cheers,
Ballroom

What a great Ballroom it was on Friday. Some really great live performances and a fantastic atmosphere throughout. Sportsbag were on fine form - I think the best set yet from the fellas. So a big thanks to all who made it down and especially Nathan, Jamie and Adam aka Sportsbag.
Apologies to the few people who didn’t get to play. It’s hard trying to give everyone a fair chance but I think the balance is just about right. If 16 acts play it means everyone up on stage gets a decent audience - the alternative is to let everyone play and go on late. The reason I’ve decided against this is that in the past we’ve had people playing to a half empty room at 10 to midnight. This just isn’t fair to the people that have drawn the short straw and played last. This is also why I only let people sign up to play from 8pm and not before - all in the interest of democracy. If people don’t get to play one month they get 1st dibs for next time…
Anyhoo - a cracking night. Heres to many more. See you on the first Friday of the month. Pictures coming soon.
