Pakistan flooding fundraiser – Friday 27th August at Braziers Park
Hello folks,
I am sure you’ve all read about the awful situation with the flooding in Pakistan. This email is to invite you to an evening of open mic music to help raise much needed funds.
Do any of you remember the fantastic evening of music up at Braziers Park earlier this year to raise money for Haiti? Thanks to the generosity of all involved with that evening, nearly £1000 was raised, every penny of which went to the Haiti earthquake appeal. Well, here’s the thing. Let’s try and do the same for the Pakistan flooding appeal. With your support I’m sure we can have a great evening of music and raise some cash at the same time.
We haven’t finalised the details yet, but the general idea is to have an evening of open mic under the stars outside the magnificence that is Braziers Park. There will be a bar and some kind of (delicious) food prepared by the good folks at Braziers. It’s down to you lot to provide some excellent music and company. It will probably start at around 8pm and go on till late.
Keep an eye on the Ballroom website for more details but please put Friday 27th August in your diary now.
I hope as many people as possible will come up and support the night – forward this email to anyone you know who might be interested.
There is an excellent bus service between Reading, Braziers Park, Wallingford and Oxford. See this link for details.
Thank you so much for reading, and please come and support the night if you can.

What a lovely evening in the Braziers barn (if a little chilly!). Suggestion for where the money could go: http://www.shelterbox.org/deployment_details.php?id=136 – practical help including shelter, safe water kits and the essentials displaced people need quickly.
We mustn’t forget Niger – could we maybe have a specail ballroom for them – droughts have been followed by floods there in the poorest country on earth.

Hi John,
Agreed – what a fantastic evening!
I like the look of Shelter Box. Many thanks for the suggestion.
If anyone else has ideas please let us know.
Thanks,
